Rejoice Mazvirevesa Chipuriro is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Johannesburg,South Africa. Rejoice is a qualified social worker with 12 years experience in community development and coordination of research projects in the Southern Africa region. As a social worker and change agent, Rejoice is interested in addressing economic exclusion and food insecurity amongst elderly farmers. Her research covers agrarian transformation, politics,  gender and ageing in Zimbabwe. She is keen on utilizing African philosophy in addressing development challenges in Africa. Currently, she is a program officer at the Royal Norwegian Embassy where she is responsible for managing grants and political reporting on Zimbabwe and South Africa.
